We decided to take the 3 hour ride to start early and beat the heat. It meant a early drive from Scottsdale, but in the end, well worth it. Debbie and Penny were our guides, and they were both wonderful. They were both very knowledgeable and provided lots of local information on the local flora and fauna, as well as fielding many questions from our group as a whole. They keep the groups small, we only had 6 riders on our trip and they will only take a maximum of 7, unless you request more for your private party. The ride itself is very relaxing and beautiful. Penny and Debby know these trails like the back of their hands and made it very easy to enjoy the ride and focus less on controlling the horse. If you are not from the southwest or used to seeing cacti where you live, the thousands of Saguaro cacti you see on this ride are worth it alone. We also saw a snake, a Gila monster, and plenty of lizards. Can’t say enough good things about this ride, if you enjoy hiking or riding, don’t miss out on this one!
